And what a two weeks it's been

  • End of the Olympics (kinda petered out for us really, though we enjoyed the marathons)
  • Democratic Convention (loved loved loved all the speeches, especially Barack Obama's on the 45th anniversary of MLK's I have a Dream speech)
  • Mark hid all the remotes to the TV, Tivo, DVD and home theatre. So, effectively there's no TV for us until after Ironman. We're coping surprisingly well.
  • Sarah Palin was nominated for VP by John McCain and sparks the greatest debate over modern feminism that I have ever seen. And we thought feminism was decided.
  • Started training, expecially back at the pool. In two sessions, I received more advice on my swimming style than I have in five years of swimming.
  • Related to the above, apparently I need a stronger kick, my arms cross my body and I have wobbly hips.
  • Related to the above, Mark now teases me for having a wiggly butt. Hmmm.
  • Tina got into the garbage and proved herself a purebred German Shepherd by promptly getting diarrhea and throwing up something large and lumpy.
