Day 2 count

  • Got up today with a plan
  • Met with recruiter who told me to follow my heart and explore working with disabled in sports
  • Browsed 850 jobs on www.idealist.org (non profit jobs). There are some really interesting jobs with really interesting groups out there.
  • Found out that Special Olympics is based in DC, but site is currently redirecting to tribute to founder who died today so don't know what jobs are available.
  • Posted resume on Monster; expecting a flood of emails by tomorrow (right?)
  • Found senior IT job I think I could do, but it asks for all sorts of fancy schmancy knowledge that I have, just not under those titles, so they may not look at me twice. Or it'll be a case of the Emperor having no clothes - I'll finally be outed as a fraud after all these years of fooling folks.
  • Found a job in communications with the Paralyzed Veterans Association who are heavily involved in sports and Paralympics. Again, I can do the job - just need to translate experience into what they're looking for. But is that close enough to what I want to do?
  • Ran 3.5 miles - first run since IMLP. Felt great, though HR was elevated by the end. My body said "Speed? What's speed?" It also was hot as hell and humid to boot. Good to see my track peeps again.
  • Formulated vague plan for women's sports clothing. All the right people are within my reach, but would they be interested?
  • Arranged trip to Louisville, KY to watch friend in Ironman!!!!!!!
  • Decided to take big girl Tina camping to support Team Z in races this weekend.
Plan for tomorrow:
  • Swim
  • Produce non-IT version of resume
  • Um ... that'll probably take all day
  • Dentist
