This last weekend was just perfect. We didn't have to get up at a certain time, or go for a long run or a long ride. We took great books along and spent lots of time sitting on our butts. I even had a second lie in after a cooked breakfast of poppy seed french toast, bacon and fruit. It was utter bliss. I don't think that we've had such a wonderful August weather wise since we arrived in DC and it was too good to pass up. Next month is going to be the official start of my training for Lake Placid, so we've deliberately taken it easy this month. Hopefully we're building up enough rest points to tide us over until after Mark's marathon.

First camping trips
We spent the last couple of weekends camping - first in Delaware for one of Mark's races (a PR - he ran 2 miles in 6:30 pace - I nearly missed him come in!) and then on the WV/VA border. The weekend was glorious and the campground only a third full. Tina turns out to be a great camper - not worried about all the noises and movements on the edge of the campsite and tired enough to want to go into the tent nice and early.
