Saw the Dr today. Came away with referrals for three ultrasounds and one mammogram. Nothing serious - perhaps more of an indication of changing insurance companies than anything.
Not much to report on the training front. The week isn't at an end, but I will end it approximately 2.5 workouts behind. Inauguration day was so exhausting that I didn't get in the run I'd planned for. And traffic was predicted to be so bad that swim was canceled. And it's just too easy to skip strength workouts. Got in a half strength workout this morning though, so clawing my way back. Still - it's the previous three months of workouts that count. Not these three.
This is the last "build" week before starting to taper for the marathon. Tapering gives your body enough time to assimilate and absorb the hard training of the previous weeks and rest up before the big day. I'm looking forward to it. Strangely enough, I'm looking forward to the marathon itself, if only because at the end of it, I will be able to call myself a 'marathoner.' I may have a very different opinion after tomorrow's 20 mile run!
