And the preview for the summer blockbuster comes on.
In a World Where Sensible People Spend Their Weekends Watering the Garden, Pushing Junior on His Bigwheel, or Chasing Balls with the Dog, There is a Breed of Person Who Chooses to Jump into a Washing Machine with 2,000 Other People just for the Pleasure of Following a Golden Thread, Visits with Ascents Named Papa Bear and Mama Bear and Descents at 45 mph, and Wears Glowsticks in the Dark in Order to Walk Alongside Rivers. These People are Seeking to Be Called "Ironman." Mary is One of These People. But Can She Overcome the Odds against Her? Will She Get Kicked in the Eye in the Swim? Will She Despair When Faced with Her Second Loop on the Bike? Will She Take Off Like a Bat Out of Hell Only to Sit on the Side of the Road and Cry? Coming, July 26 - Ironman, The Movie.
Too much to blog about this weekend's training camp on my Blackberry, so here is a taste of what to expect when I get to a full keyboard:
Screaming at myself. Despair. Laughing until tears flowed down my face. Chocolate decadent layer cake with raspberry sauce. Lube, sand and new brakes. Rain and headwinds. Bottles of cider dangled outside moving vehicles. Teaching the meaning of wanker and bugger. The joys and gender preferences of spooning. Heart rate training and sex. And continued guest appearances but Matt and Scott who are sure to provide much material on the drive home.
Stay tuned.
