Well, wouldn't you know it, but by the end of last night, my wrist was killing me. I'd gotten a call from the ER the other day telling me that the radiologist thought that a bone in my wrist might be broken. But since I had no pain, I dismissed it. The Dr also thought that I didn't have a broken bone - he squeezed and no pain. I think it's just how I was typing on the laptop (first time with two hands!). At work today, it wasn't painful at all, thank goodness.
I mostly lived without the sling today and had no trouble. Then at home, I sat on the bike for 40 minutes and even managed to change up from my little chain ring to middle chain ring twice with no pain. I did notice that it's difficult to rest in the climbing position, with my hands on the hoods or bars. Might be a bit difficult in a race with close to 70-80 miles of climbing! I'll have to do a fair amount of climbing in my aerobars where I'm resting on the forearms and not putting any vertical pressure on the break.
My coach says I should just get in the pool and not extend my arm, so I'll try to do that sometime this week.
19 days to go .... yikes!
